Tonight some part of me smelt fall in the wind tonight, even if the only part doing so was my imagination. Summer is over; that's change enough for the winds.
And last night...I was out in the night-time again. Oh god! I don't get out enough in the glorious night enough, because of the fears my loved ones have of big city life. Somewhere I read that leopards enjoy the night as much as the day.... and I dearly miss my night. This should go into my college search. I really ought to go somewhere where I can see the stars at night and where I can take a stroll past sunset without unsettling those who care for me. This one year has been too long.

Tonight, as I was walking and reading (in preparation for school) the sentence "The winds have changed" made itself prominent in my mind; it is such a romantic phrase. I believe it was used somewhere in "The Lord of the Rings" -- the movie, of course, since I haven't read the books, and it was a very romantic movie. The mention of romance is what I suppose led my thoughts to tie the sentence in with thoughts of Danielle. "The winds have changed." That would be such a romantic way to part ways with someone, would it not? So, my hopelessly romantic self was yet again wishing for romance in every part of life. Just as well -- earlier today I was wishing to romantically make love. I think it all too much has to do with the book I have forced myself to become absorbed in -- The Picture of Dorian Gray. Yes. I do believe this is precisely why I prefer nonfiction to fiction. I fill myself with facts needed for forming opinions, or states of mind, rather than fill myself with stories, with personalities that will affect me, with no other good reason besides persuasion. Yes, escapism drags itself into reality when those personalities that so distract you become your own. (Not that all literature/cinema is meant to be an escape.)
